Our values and approach

At Shaker Speech Therapy, we embrace and support the unique ways individuals think, learn, and communicate. Instead of focusing on "fixing" deficits, we celebrate diverse neurological profiles such as autism, ADHD, and other neurodivergent traits as part of human variation. Our approach, neurodiversity-affirming in its nature, emphasizes strengths, fosters self-acceptance, and tailors therapy to each child’s needs, using inclusive practices that promote empowerment, respect, and meaningful communication in all its forms.

“As human beings, our job in life is to help people realize how rare and valuable each one of us really is, that each of us has something that no one else has- or ever will have- something inside that is unique to all time. It's our job to encourage each other to discover that uniqueness and to provide ways of developing its expression.”
